Software Engineer, Content

Paradoxum Games is looking for a software engineer to help us bring more content to our players! As a software engineer you will be helping us create new towers, enemies, units, and come up with additional content to bring out to millions of people that play Tower Defense Simulator. You’ll be reporting to our Content team, and if you’re motivated by bringing out brand new fresh, and innovative game-play content to millions of players, this’ll be the job for you!


You’re a good fit if you:

  • Required: Have excellent written / verbal communication skills in English
  • Required: Familiar with one or more programming languages such as Lua/Luau, JavaScript, Java, C++, or others
  • Required: Have experience working with the Roblox game engine
  • Experience working with version control software (We use Git)
  • Familiar with modern ui/game frameworks such as Knit, React/Roact, Fusion,
  • Are curious about new technologies / features, and are willing to implement them
  • Have experience with industry-standard tooling for Roblox (Rojo, Lune, etc)
  • Have a passion for both playing and making games

You’ll be doing:

  • Writing quality Luau code to help reduce technical debt, clean up old code, fixing bugs, documenting features,  and peer reviewing code
  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary peers
  • Implementing polished content that emphasizes intuitive and responsive UX
  • Thoroughly testing and deploying to millions of players with minimal bugs
  • Write unit and integration tests for the code you write

Bonus points:

  • Have experience working in a self-managed or remote environment
  • Have existing Roblox experiences that you have designed and programmed
  • Have an understanding of the Roblox platform and player motivations
  • Have experience contributing to the Open Source community
  • Have existing code snippets of your current work, either on GitHub or provided as files
  • Have secondary development skills that support your gameplay role – UI/UX, gameplay design, audio design, graphics design, modeling + texturing, etc

Compensation:

$70,000 $80,000 a year

The listed salary range is an estimate. Actual offers may fall within or exceed this range, depending on factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
