Junior Software Engineer, Content

Paradoxum Games is looking for a software engineer to help us bring more content to our players! As a software engineer you will be helping us create new towers, enemies, units, and come up with additional content to bring out to millions of people that play Tower Defense Simulator. You’ll be reporting to our Content team, and if you’re motivated by bringing out brand new fresh, and innovative game-play content to millions of players, this’ll be the job for you!


You’re a good fit if you:

  • Required: Have excellent written / verbal communication skills in English
  • Required: Familiar with one or more programming languages such as Lua/Luau, JavaScript, Java, C++, or others
  • Required: Have hands on experience with Luau and the Roblox engine experience and have shipped Roblox content/features
  • Enjoy collaborating with engineers, designers and other team members
  • Have basic experience with version control (Git) and modern Roblox tooling (Rojo, Lune), or are eagar to learn them
  • Are familar with (or excited to learn) modern ui/game frameworks such as Knit, React/Roact, and Fusion
  • Are curious about new technologies and motivated to learn and grow as an engineer
  • Love making fun, engaging gameplay and contributing live game content

You’ll be doing:

  • Write clean, high-quality Luau gameplay content, contributing to features such as towers, enemies, and units.
  • Help improve existing code by fixing bugs, cleaning up legacy systems, and adding documentation
  • Working closely with designers and engineers to implement brand new content and iterate on existing content, alongside gameplay features.
  • Assist in building polished, intuitive, and performant player experience
  • Thoroughly testing and deploying to millions of players with minimal bugs
  • Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and improve code quality

Bonus points:

  • Have experience working on personal or team projects in a self-directed or remote environment
  • Have build or contributed one or more Roblox experiences
  • Have a basic understanding of the Roblox platform and what motivates players
  • Have contributed to open-source projects or community tools
  • Can share code samples (e.g. GitHub repositories or project files)
  • Have additional skills that can support your Content Engineering such as:
    • UI/UX Design
    • Gameplay Design
    • Audio / Visual Design
    • 3D Modelling / Texturing

Compensation:

$60,000 $80,000 a year

The listed salary range is an estimate. Actual offers may fall within or exceed this range, depending on factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
